COMPUTER LAB RULES AND REGULATIONS

1.   NO group discussions allowed in the lab.

2.   Use of the lab is restricted to the current students, faculty, and staff only. DO NOT bring guests or visitors into the lab.

3.        Staff person MUST be in the computer lab while students are using it. The lab will be locked when no staff present.

4.        No playing games unless they are part of the course work.

5.        Watching films, and listening to music are not allowed.

6.        DO NOT install any software in the lab, inform the lab technician if you need any software.

7.        Inform the lab technician immediately if a computer is not working properly. DO NOT try to repair the equipment yourself.

8.        You are NOT allowed to disconnect or move any equipment in the Lab.

9.        Accessing and browsing of pornographic sites are strictly NOT allowed. In addition the following website and activities are considered inappropriate: Music and Video Download, Chat Boards, Gaming, Excessive social networking.

10.        Users are solely responsible for the backup of their important and sensitive data either by saving it locally on hard drives or to portable storage Media such as Flash Drive, CDs and DVDs.

11.        No student is allowed to use flash drives without consulting the Lab technician.

12.        Laptops and other portable computers should strictly be used where there is no connected workstation or computer. Students must consult lab technicians before they connect their laptops to power. Students are not allowed to unplug network cables from the lab computers to connect to their laptops.

13.        Keep your computer lab clean! Please dispose of your own trash and pack out any items you brought with you.
14.        Silence must be maintained in the labs at all cost. NO loud ringtones. You may switch off mobile phones while in the lab. Alternatively use low ringtones or vibrator mode only.

15.        Be courteous, be polite, and show respect to other students, staff and Lab technicians.

16.        Pupils are prohibited to enter the lab unless authorized by the teacher or lab technician.

17.        DO NOT alter any setting and configuration of computers in the lab.

18.        Take permission from lab technician before using any removable disks (flash drive, external HDD, diskettes) and scan them before using.

19.        Report all problems related to the system to the teacher or lab technician.

20.        Do not attempt to repair or tamper with lab equipment.

21.        Be responsible when using equipment, software and facilities in the lab.

22.        Do not move any equipment from its original position.

23.        Be considerate. Avoid using computers unnecessarily longer than required.

24.        Do not bring in bags, food and drink into the lab.

25.        Turn off the computer accordingly after use.

26.        Smoking, eating, chew gum and drinking are NOT allowed in the labs.

27.        User is strictly advised to take care of their personal belonging all the time.

28.        Internet facility is strictly for educational purposes only.

29.        Copying of copyrighted software is illegal.

30.        Return your keyboard, mouse to their normal position and push in your chair when leaving the lab.

31.        Switch off all power supplies before leaving the lab.
